For Funke

Peace be unto everybody reading this. I hope it meets you well.

Like always, your opening this link means you the light of the love of humanity is shining in your heart. Without wasting much of your precious time, let's meet Funke.

Funke Badru is a 21 year old ex student of Moshood Abiola Polytechnic. Sometime in july, 2011, she was diagnosed in the University College hospital of having a tumour disturbing the function of the eyes causing symptoms like double vision. She was placed on drugs for a few weeks and on september 3rd 2011, she was rushed to the hospital. On september 11, she was rolled in for surgery, her first surgery. That would have been the end of it, but one Doctor Akinbo made a wrong cut. Her consultant, Professor Malomo recommended another surgery, but for fear that it might not be a success, she declined. She remained in the hospital for about three months where her condition got worse and she was rolled in again on November 10. Because of the delay, infection had set in and a skull x-ray revealed that some bones in her head were now infected. At this stage, the wound had started to emit a discharge with pungent odour.

The doctors then detected that there was still a tumour close to the brain and for fear of risk, she was referred to Eko Hospital, Ikeja for radiotherapy (the equipment in UCH were faulty at the time). She spent another 3 months there. This whole process has gulped about 3.5 million naira raised mostly from family and friends.

Now, she requires TWO MILLION for final treatment which would include removal of the tumour and Cosmetic surgery to fix the bone problem.

She has dropped out of school due to this illness. She sought financial aid from the Ogun State government where she resides. No response. She also wrote to the Ogun state Ministry of Health, no response and no willingness to help.

Now, its up to us. Forget about the government, she needs your help. Before you pray that God provides for her, I have news for you. THE GOOD NEWS is that God has provided. THE BAD NEWS is that the money is still in your pockets. She has lost hope in the Government, but she hasn't lost hope in you.

The bible speaks to you,

"One man gives freely, yet gains even more; another withholds unduly, but comes to poverty. A generous man will prosper; he who refreshes others will himself be refreshed."

Proverbs 14:21

The Qur'an is calling you to righteousness when it says,

"You cannot attain to righteousness unless you spend (in charity) out of what you love"- Imran: 92

This is the highest call a human can receive, a call to save another human. Please tell your friends, family to benefit from this opportunity to save a human being.

There is no loss in charity. DO something.

  1. To add to the information above she is an old student of African church grammer school Abeokuta Ogun state and the governor of the state in person of gov. Ibikunle Amosun is also an alumni of this same school, an ex mapaites and he's also an alumni of this school. i'm wondering why he has refused to help. no one knows what the future holds for my dear formal classmate just like no one knew that that little boy of those days ibikunle amosun of afrograms would become the governor of this state. what if he had died, he'll never smell the sit of becoming governor. so lets save badru funke.
