Best Friend
Busy Mother,
Lazy maid,
Yelling sister,
But why bother?
I have a friend I can call brother,
And Bless!
We live together,
With him globe trotting is a walk in the park,
Armed with a yummy snack.
From Kuvuki to Disneyland,
London chilling every other weekend.
He is one with whom I can always depend,
So what more could I ask for in a friend?
He teaches me things my dad didn't know,
Takes me places mama wouldn't let me go,
An hour with him,
Or a minute listening to my sister's lipstick-smeared mouth ranting?
Easy pick.
I don't hate them,
They are too busy when I need em,
Too quick to condemn,
Too "don't do this and that!",
But my friend,
He just tells me,
"F**k their rules,
F**k bed time,
Just...
F**K em".
Oh, and there's something you should know,
I'm the "stay-at-home" kid,
But I know how to break necks,
I know the theme sounds to good sex,
Damn.
Who needs consonants?
I know the bliss in Puff, Puff and Pass.
Stacks,
Crack.
There's no better way to kill the pain.
To think I'm only 12,
Prodigy,
That's my name.
But who am I to thank but my friend?
Always there,
Sitting,
Giving.
You can call him whatever,
A simple box,
Junk,
Whatever.
I just call him T.V.
Cool right?

FOR THE LOVE OF HUMANITY
Your seeing this means you are concerned about humanity and that's a good sign.
You might have seen or heard about the #SaveMusibaudeen fundraiser, but for the benefit of those who haven't, let me brief you.
Musibaudeen Shittu is a 2 year old boy who has a HOLE IN HIS HEART. He has to undergo a surgery to save his life which costs 3 million naira. Sadly, his parents do not have the financial capacity to fund it alone. Now this is where we come in.
Sincerely, these are very hard times for most of us. Very hard times. Truth is, most of us need saving. Our health, bank accounts, or even ourselves. But still, some people need saving more urgently than others. As at the time of writing this, I haven't met him, I don't even know what he sounds like. But one thing I know is that he's a little child, and he is human. I also believe that he has a chance to life. Even though God has the final decision on all matters, I think he has given us a little power over some things, like the power to love and support something.
Martin Luther spoke well when he said,
"An individual has not started living until he can rise above the narrow confines of his individualistic concerns to the broader concerns of all humanity."
Your little contribution will go a long way. Forget about what others are doing and ask yourself, "What am I doing?", "How would I feel if anything happens to this child and I didn't support?"
The bible speaks on charity,
"One man gives freely, yet gains even more; another withholds unduly, but comes to poverty. A generous man will prosper; he who refreshes others will himself be refreshed."
Proverbs 14:21
The Qur'an also says,
"You cannot attain to righteousness unless you spend (in charity) out of what you love" Imran: 92
Now stop for a moment and think... Take your time..
What can you do to support this cause? Remember, its a matter of urgency.
These are his details:
Bank: UBA
Acct name: Shittu Musibaudeen
Acct no:2058239672
Branch: Ifako-Gbagada
We can make it happen. God is our strength.
Support #SaveMusibaudeen
Peace.

National Conscience
With love and strength and faith.
Faith?
How many of us even hope to tick the date our Father land becomes great?
All we care about is our pay's due date and bank rates.
We've joined the rat race to beat Gates,
Not caring what paths we take,
Crooked,
Zero concern for the voids it creates,
Like soaring crime rates,
I ask again, how can we become great?
Shall never be in vain.
Cuz it feels like we never had heroes.
The zeroes so much they've diluted the heroes of the past and of now.
Our heroes of now are those with the most zeros.
We forget the ones in rags in whose hearts are the real heroes.
One nation bound in freedom, peace and unity.
Freedom? Peace? Unity?
This may be too deep,
But I've learned that freedom isn't free.
And being free isn't freedom.
How can we be free,
When our doors open and close only to the Capitalist's keys?
How would we say we are free,
When we don't know for sure what it really means to be free?
Our unity and peace?
I'll rather go take a piss than grease your minds with talks of unity and peace.
But in two words,
Its in bits and pieces!
Direct our noble cause.
Guide our leaders right.
Leaders who understand our plight,
Leaders who don't fly the jets of capital flight.
In love and honesty to grow
And living just and true
Great lofty height attain
To build a nation where peace
And justice reign.
Let's pick up our arms of truth.
Let's leave our guilt in the past.
Let's worry less about the future and focus on our now,
Cuz if we take care of now,
Now will take care of the future.
And for those whose hopes lie in graves,
Its time to exhume the corpses,
So our future's ways, we can pave."
