Best Friend
Busy Mother,
Lazy maid,
Yelling sister,
But why bother?
I have a friend I can call brother,
And Bless!
We live together,
With him globe trotting is a walk in the park,
Armed with a yummy snack.
From Kuvuki to Disneyland,
London chilling every other weekend.
He is one with whom I can always depend,
So what more could I ask for in a friend?
He teaches me things my dad didn't know,
Takes me places mama wouldn't let me go,
An hour with him,
Or a minute listening to my sister's lipstick-smeared mouth ranting?
Easy pick.
I don't hate them,
They are too busy when I need em,
Too quick to condemn,
Too "don't do this and that!",
But my friend,
He just tells me,
"F**k their rules,
F**k bed time,
Just...
F**K em".
Oh, and there's something you should know,
I'm the "stay-at-home" kid,
But I know how to break necks,
I know the theme sounds to good sex,
Damn.
Who needs consonants?
I know the bliss in Puff, Puff and Pass.
Stacks,
Crack.
There's no better way to kill the pain.
To think I'm only 12,
Prodigy,
That's my name.
But who am I to thank but my friend?
Always there,
Sitting,
Giving.
You can call him whatever,
A simple box,
Junk,
Whatever.
I just call him T.V.
Cool right?

FOR THE LOVE OF HUMANITY
Your seeing this means you are concerned about humanity and that's a good sign.
You might have seen or heard about the #SaveMusibaudeen fundraiser, but for the benefit of those who haven't, let me brief you.
Musibaudeen Shittu is a 2 year old boy who has a HOLE IN HIS HEART. He has to undergo a surgery to save his life which costs 3 million naira. Sadly, his parents do not have the financial capacity to fund it alone. Now this is where we come in.
Sincerely, these are very hard times for most of us. Very hard times. Truth is, most of us need saving. Our health, bank accounts, or even ourselves. But still, some people need saving more urgently than others. As at the time of writing this, I haven't met him, I don't even know what he sounds like. But one thing I know is that he's a little child, and he is human. I also believe that he has a chance to life. Even though God has the final decision on all matters, I think he has given us a little power over some things, like the power to love and support something.
Martin Luther spoke well when he said,
"An individual has not started living until he can rise above the narrow confines of his individualistic concerns to the broader concerns of all humanity."
Your little contribution will go a long way. Forget about what others are doing and ask yourself, "What am I doing?", "How would I feel if anything happens to this child and I didn't support?"
The bible speaks on charity,
"One man gives freely, yet gains even more; another withholds unduly, but comes to poverty. A generous man will prosper; he who refreshes others will himself be refreshed."
Proverbs 14:21
The Qur'an also says,
"You cannot attain to righteousness unless you spend (in charity) out of what you love" Imran: 92
Now stop for a moment and think... Take your time..
What can you do to support this cause? Remember, its a matter of urgency.
These are his details:
Bank: UBA
Acct name: Shittu Musibaudeen
Acct no:2058239672
Branch: Ifako-Gbagada
We can make it happen. God is our strength.
Support #SaveMusibaudeen
Peace.

National Conscience
With love and strength and faith.
Faith?
How many of us even hope to tick the date our Father land becomes great?
All we care about is our pay's due date and bank rates.
We've joined the rat race to beat Gates,
Not caring what paths we take,
Crooked,
Zero concern for the voids it creates,
Like soaring crime rates,
I ask again, how can we become great?
Shall never be in vain.
Cuz it feels like we never had heroes.
The zeroes so much they've diluted the heroes of the past and of now.
Our heroes of now are those with the most zeros.
We forget the ones in rags in whose hearts are the real heroes.
One nation bound in freedom, peace and unity.
Freedom? Peace? Unity?
This may be too deep,
But I've learned that freedom isn't free.
And being free isn't freedom.
How can we be free,
When our doors open and close only to the Capitalist's keys?
How would we say we are free,
When we don't know for sure what it really means to be free?
Our unity and peace?
I'll rather go take a piss than grease your minds with talks of unity and peace.
But in two words,
Its in bits and pieces!
Direct our noble cause.
Guide our leaders right.
Leaders who understand our plight,
Leaders who don't fly the jets of capital flight.
In love and honesty to grow
And living just and true
Great lofty height attain
To build a nation where peace
And justice reign.
Let's pick up our arms of truth.
Let's leave our guilt in the past.
Let's worry less about the future and focus on our now,
Cuz if we take care of now,
Now will take care of the future.
And for those whose hopes lie in graves,
Its time to exhume the corpses,
So our future's ways, we can pave."

FOR US MEN
Who conquered but died with open. palms and nobility
Men like,
Jesus and Muhammad
Peace be upon them,
Who stood on truth and justice
Even when they were met with hostility,
Men, who stood for something.
But,
The men I see,
Are just a bunch of,
Homo Sapiens bouncing around with testicles between their thighs,
Who only take pride in how many
Times they end up between thighs.
I've learned that history is written in two colours:
The ink of the scholars and the blood of martyrs
But the men I've seen,
Only one colour matters:
Green.
I mean, green as in beer bottles,
I mean, green as in trees and benjamins to squander,
As if Rockefeller can spend his Benjamins from 6ft under.
Sometimes I wonder,
If people ever stop to ponder,
That these things they cherish,
In a flash, Death is going to put asunder with that squeeze!
And You won't be able appease with all your benjis, trees, your "Fresh boy" tees.
And Snap! Your name reads, "deceased".
I look hard to find men with a cause like Malcolm's, Fela's,or Mandela's,
But the men I see,
Are first in line for talk,
And last in line for sacrifice!
Wimps outside,
Who be Muhammad Ali'ing their women inside,
Fresh and fly on the outside,
And wimps on the inside.
But still,
Still,
There are men,
Men who would live and die on nobility,
When who would stand on truth and justice even all they get is hostility,
Men, who would be first in line for talk and sacrifice,
Men,
Real men.
They say boys will be boys,
But I say boys better dump their toys and grow up.
Because boys stay dreaming,
While men stay awake, scheming.
I ask you,
What are you?
Man or male?
Do you even have a destination,
Or are you driving down the road called "Epic fail"?
So this, is my Public Service Announcement:
Men wanted, apply "up there".

A Tale Of a Mother And Her Son
"My mom only had one eye. I hated her… She was such an embarrassment. She cooked for students and teachers to support the family.
There was this one day during elementary school where my mom came to say hello to me. I was so embarrassed.
How could she do this to me? I ignored her, threw her a hateful look and ran out. The next day at school one of my classmates said, 'EEEE, your mom only has one eye!'
I wanted to bury myself. I also wanted my mom to just disappear. I confronted her that day and said, ' If you're only gonna make me a laughing stock, why don't you just die?'
My mom did not respond… I didn't even stop to think for a second about what I had said, because I was full of anger. I was oblivious to her feelings.
I wanted out of that house, and have nothing to do with her. So I studied real hard, got a chance to go abroad to study.
Then, I got married. I bought a house of my own. I had kids of my own. I was happy with my life, my kids and the comforts. Then one day, my Mother came to visit me. She hadn't seen me in years and she didn't even meet her grandchildren.
When she stood by the door, my children laughed at her, and I yelled at her for coming over uninvited. I screamed at her, 'How dare you come to my house and scare my children!' GET OUT OF HERE! NOW!!!'
And to this, my mother quietly answered, 'Oh, I'm so sorry. I may have gotten the wrong address,' and she disappeared out of sight.
One day, a letter regarding a school reunion came to my house. So I lied to my wife that I was going on a business trip. After the reunion, I went to the old shack just out of curiosity.
My neighbours said that she died. I did not shed a single tear. They handed me a letter that she had wanted me to have.
'My dearest son,
I think of you all the time. I'm sorry that I came to your house and scared your children.
I was so glad when I heard you were coming for the reunion. But I may not be able to even get out of bed to see you. I'm sorry that I was a constant embarrassment to you when you were growing up.
You see……..when you were very little, you got into an accident, and lost your eye. As a mother, I couldn't stand watching you having to grow up with one eye. So I gave you mine.
I was so proud of my son who was seeing a whole new world for me, in my place, with that eye.
With all my love to you,
Your mother."
Now think about this. Are you in anyway guilty? How much appreciation do you show? Is it enough? Ask yourself these questions. Most of us, guys especially, think its "not cool" to hug or even kiss our mums in public, or even at home! Well guess what? They love it!
Do it while you still have the chance. Some people would do anything to bring their mothers back for just a hug. Do it now. Don't procrastinate. If she's close, hug her and tell her you love her. If she isn't, grab your phone. Call her and tell her. She might think you just want to ask for money (most of us call only when we need money), but make her know you mean it. She will smile all day, trust me.
Peace

THE INVISIBLE MAN
A wish to see, but not be seen,
To hear, but not to be heard,
But still,
I wished to be able to feel,
It was a ghostly wish,
To be the invisible man.
For just a day,
With my To-do list in mind,
One I made from the days I knew my waste left from my behind,
The places I wanted to go,
The Banks I wanted to go broke,
The Government secrets I wanted to know.
Many things to explore,
But first, I had to see my friends,
Give them a little more than they could comprehend.
I met them talking and laughing like always,
And then, one of them looked at me,
Through me,
Beyond me,
And asked about me,
It felt like their hearts flipped from flesh to stones.
And as they spoke, in cold hush tones,
Their speared words pierced every inch of my flesh and bones.
And they spilled, like they knew I was there,
And wanted me to hear,
I came to show them more than they could comprehend,
But instead,
I got as much as I could comprehend.
And when I had drank to my fill what they had spilled,
I left,
With my heart cleft,
Asunder,
The bits glued together by words to ponder.
And just then, I saw her face,
That face that always beamed with light,
That face that always carried a smile,
That was all I knew about her, her smile.
But there was more,
Her doctor said her body would lose the war,
In about five months or four,
With her cancer which started merely as a sore.
When I learned this was her fate,
I admired her faith,
Because she still wore a moonlit face,
With all of her pain hidden with no trace.
The places I wanted to go,
The banks I wanted to go broke,
The Government secrets I wanted to know.
None of it mattered anymore.
And now that I've become visible,
I know the people to treat right,
I've learned of the silent battles we fight,
And most importantly,
I've learned of the power of a simple smile.
But know,
That its two more wishes to go,,
So remember me when your door squeaks,
Remember me before your mouth leaks,
I might be watching, listening.
Because I, am the invisible man.

Divine Love (Main)
"What more can a human ask for,
Than to have the Creator as your friend?
The Creator of the Heavens and the Earth.
Who Knows everything living and breathing,
Who knows everything wanting and seeking,
Who knows our actions before, during and after,
The Creator knows every display of Emotion ..
Nothing more but the constant show of Appreciation,
And the deepest sincerity in our actions,
Is all that is commanded,
So If human love makes you feel underrated,
Remember a love that can't be explained,
Wonderful,
Fulfilling
And is never Overrated.
Open your mind To understand,
Release Your inner most desire and Be, In the Constant Remembrance of the Creator,
Never judging, never mocking, Never misguiding the created.
We fail only because in the midst of our praises and duas,
We still underestimate the greatness of the Creator in our actions,
So what more can a human ask for?
What more can You ask for?
So in My pain I remember Him,
In my happiness I remember Him,
In my frustration, I never forget His Presence closer to Me
Knowing All that I'm going through,
What More Can I ask for Than be a Friend of the Creator?"
